WHY GUARDIANSHIP ?
It is an ongoing requirement of enrolment/study (in Australia) for international students to maintain approved guardian, visa, welfare and accommodation arrangements regardless of age for the entire period the student is enrolled. Guardian, welfare and accommodation arrangements must be approved by Training Providers. All international students on a student visa are required to have a Guardian who acts on behalf of their parents.
The Legal Guardian may be a relative of the student living in Melbourne, otherwise, the School requires parents to engage the services of a paid professional Guardian. In the case where a relative is appointed, the chosen Guardian must be over 25 years of age and the parents must complete the form overleaf appointing the person as Guardian, including all relevant contact details. Guardians must be known to be responsible and of good character, and agree that they can comply with Guardian arrangements set out in this document. They must reside in Melbourne and must also supply a Working with Children check. Paid professional Guardianship is required in all other circumstances. The indicative cost is approximately $AUD1,700* per annum and vary with providers. Refer Fees and Charges.
